May 13, 2003 - Now... time for some of your comments. A report we aired yesterday (Monday) about the conceal-carry handgun law recently passed in Minnesota sparked some discussion with our listeners. One of them was a caller who was critical of reporter Mark Zdechlik's piece about how the law passed at the State Capitol. Greg Hanson from Eagan says the report came from a biased perspective that says anyone carrying a gun is dangerous. But Reverend Scot McCluskey from Crookston had this to say on the "Your Voice" section of our website.
May 13, 2003 - Minnesota's state epidemiologist will talk to doctors today about Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, or SARS. Dr. Harry Hull is a speaker at a conference for primary care physicians. Minnesota has had three probable cases of SARS, which has infected more than 73-hundred people worldwide. No one in the state has died from the illness. Dr. Hull is on the line now.

May 12, 2003 - Just one week from today, Minnesota lawmakers must adjourn the 2003 legislative session. They have lots of work to do before then, including coming up with the next two-year budget in the face of a projected 4.2 billion dollar shortfall. Legislative leaders have not yet agreed on overall spending targets, which means conference committees are still waiting to do their work.
