May 2, 1996 - No simple slogan has emerged yet, characterizing the issues of the 1996 presidential campaign. Back in 1992 it was about "The Economy Stupid!" But as Minnesota Public Radio's Karen-Louise Boothe reports, a group of policy makers, pundits, journalists and community leaders is attempting to define the issues this campaign season.

April 24, 1995 - President Clinton is in Iowa tonight, where tomorrow he will attend the final National Rural Conference to get input for the 1995 farm bill. Earlier today, Clinton spoke in the Twin Cities at the annual meeting of the American Association of Community Colleges. Clinton spoke about the ongoing tragedy in Oklahoma City and his ideas for education reform and the importance of community colleges in the educational system. Labor Secretary Robert Reich also spoke before those attending the convention. Minnesota Public Radio reporter Mark Zdechlik talked with another member of Clinton's cabinet who spoke at the meeting, Education Secretary Richard Reilly. After speaking today to community college officials, Clinton stopped for lunch at Peter's Grill in downtown Minneapolis . Joining the president were U.S. Senator Paul Wellstone, Minnesota Congressman Bruce Vento, state attorney general Hubert Humphrey III, and former North Dakota governor George Sinner.
