May 25, 1995 - Midday presents Andrew Young, Atlanta mayor and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, speaking to the Greater Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce at its annual meeting. Young’s address was titled, "Stopping the Decline in American Cities: A Quality of Life Message for Minnesota." Following speech, Young answered audience questions.

August 25, 1993 - Minneapolis Mayor Don Fraser visits the MPR studios to answer questions about his welfare reform proposal. Fraser says unmarried women should not automatically be eligible for welfare just because they have a child. The suggestion has touched off a spirited debate over welfare reform and the family.
August 2, 1993 - Minneapolis Mayor Don Fraser shares his view on welfare reform. While he supports welfare program to protect children and their health, he questions the logic of of providing welfare to single mothers as well. Fraser fears that it just fosters a cycle of poverty.
