October 9, 1975 - D. Michael Curren (sp?) speaks in favor of building a 1500 mile pipeline from Peugeot Sound to Clearwater, Minnesota to carry oil and natural gas. His group feels when the Canadians cut off oil supply to the U.S., the Midwest should be as independent as possible of foreign countries. Reporter discusses the pros and cons of the proposal. The head of MN Energy Agency John Milhone says building a new pipeline is just one option; we could also use the Alaskan connection and existing pipelines in the south, or trade with the Canadians. He says the US and Canada can interact cooperatively to solve energy problems. If Minnesota wants Alaskan oil through the Canadian pipeline a decision must be made in six months.
August 1, 1975 - St. Paul scientist Gary Hudson speaking on why we should step up exploration of outer space, stating that space exploration is in our future. Hudson says space could solve our population and energy problems if we exploit it properly. He predicts outer space could be our next industrial park, but says this cannot happen unless private corporations take the lead in exploring space. He is very critical of the government's space program, saying it's far too expensive and far too bureaucratic to be effective.
July 17, 1975 - MPR’s Debbie Gage talks with presidential candidate Jimmy Carter about his background and qualifications. Carter explains why he should be the U.S. President, his commitment to the race, about being a governor vs. senator, his campaign strategy towards Wallace and other candidates including President Ford. July 16, 1975 - Prisoners are let out one at a time from their cells. Whenever a prisoner is let out, two or three guards watch them. Riot plans have been put in place. Seahouse is the heart of the fortress prison that legislators are trying to shut down.
