April 25, 1974 - St. Cloud dignitaries celebrate the city becoming an "All American City," a designation from the National Civic League.

February 27, 1974 - Public hearings to determine if the Pig's Eye coal terminal would cause environmental damage. The storage terminal would be used to store coal for transport.
January 17, 1974 - The Human Resources Committee of the Metropolitan Council voted to recommend to the Council that a continuation of the University of Minnesota's Certification of Need for the building of two health services buildings not be granted. At stake are $14 million dollars in state funds. David Graven, chairman of the Human Resources Committee says the University can "not fund off of us."
January 16, 1974 - Four Twin Cities neighborhood associations have asked Midwest Federal to allocate more money for inner city mortgages. The lending company will make $69 million dollars available.
