It's called Lean Health and it uses the same ideas companies like Marvin Windows and Arctic Cat use to streamline assembly line production. Those companies are trying to encourage hospitals to use the same ideas. Minnesota Public Radio's Dan Gunderson visited one hospital where the assembly line efficiency model is working for healthcare.
September 27, 2007 - Many people dismiss the North Dakota plains as an uninspiring landscape. A Moorhead photographer uses words like comfortable and intimidating to describe the prairie. Wayne Gudmundson has spent 35 years photographing the prairie landscape. Gudmundson sees the prairie a place that represents a regional sense of identity. August 10, 2007 - The 35W bridge collapse is bringing renewed attention to the country's aging roads and bridges. Investigators will consider many factors as they determine why the bridge came down. One of those is the increased traffic over the bridge in the past 40 years. During that time there's been a dramatic increase in the number of trucks on the road and those trucks are heavier. Experts say that combination can significantly reduce the life of roads and bridges. Minnesota Public Radio's Dan Gunderson explains.
