August 6, 1999 - Mainstreet Radio's Brent Wolfe reports on a national referendum sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which looks to change the current system that sets different minimum prices for milk in different parts of the country. The new pricing system would reduce the disparity in minimum prices around the nation.

April 16, 1999 - Mainstreet Radio’s Brent Wolfe visits a senior foster care family in southeast Minnesota. Nursing homes across Minnesota face a serious labor shortage that's forcing some to leave beds empty because they can't find nursing assistants to care for patients. Advocates for senior citizens are looking for ways to attract more workers and they're also looking for alternatives to nursing homes…one such alternative is senior foster care.

The Upper Mississippi River between Wabasha and La Crosse is a temporary home to as many as 15,000 tundra swans, as they stop off here each winter enroute from their breeding grounds along Alaska's north slope to their wintering grounds on the Chesapeake Bay.
November 27, 1998 - FOR FRIDAY MORNING Workers at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Red Wing are building a 14-foot fence around the campus. The facility got its start as a trainning school for truants. But today it's home to the toughest juvenile offenders in the state and authorities say they need the fence to insure security. In recent years, Red Wing got a reputation as a warehouse full of young men destined for a life in and out of adult prisons. Now, corrections officials are developing counseling programs at the facility and trying to show they can give kids the tools to turn their lives around. Minnesota Public Radio's Brent Wolfe reports.
