Administrators say they've seen improvements in the grades and attendance in the young women. They also say fights and other behavior problems among girls at the school in general have decreased.

May 19, 2006 - MPR’s Brandt Williams reports on the opening of new Minneapolis Central Library. Visitors to the five story, 365,000 square foot building will likely first notice its eye-grabbing architecture - complete with a 90-ton structure that looks like an airplane wing resting on top. Inside patrons will have access to more than three million books and other reference materials as well as an art gallery, nearly 300 public computers and special sections for young library people and immigrants.
April 19, 2006 - MPR’s Brandt Williams reports on Minneapolis Mayor RT Rybak state of the city address. Public safety was the top priority outlined in his address. Rybak delivered his speech Tuesday afternoon in north Minneapolis -- a part of the city that contains several high crime neighborhoods. April 12, 2006 - MPR’s Brandt Williams reports on the Minnesota Twins 2006 home opener, in which the team came back from being down four runs to end game beating Oakland A’s 7-6. A sell out crowd of nearly 49,000 fans attended the opener, which doubled as yet another tribute to former Twin Kirby Puckett who died the month prior. The Twins have dedicated the season to Puckett and is hoping the inspiration can help carry the team to a championship.
March 7, 2006 - MPR’s Brandt Williams visits a Metrodome memorial site for former Minnesota Twin centerfielder Kirby Puckett, who passed away on March 6, 2006. Williams interviews several fans mourning the loss of fame baseball player.
March 6, 2006 - Former Minnesota Twin Kirby Puckett is listed in critical condition in an Arizona hospital after suffering a stroke. For fans and former teammates of the Hall of Fame outfielder, the news was received with shock and sadness.
October 7, 2005 - Race is playing a contentious role in a campaign for a Minneapolis city council seat. The two candidates are both African American. Natalie Johnson Lee and Don Samuels are competing to represent the 5th ward in North Minneapolis. The campaign is a vigorous competition between the candidates on who would be best to serve the ward. But it has also become an occasionally ugly battle over which is the best black leader to sit in City Hall. This story contains language that some may find offensive. September 30, 2005 - MPR’s Brandt Williams reports that the Minnesota Twins 2005 season ends during upcoming weekend game at the Metrodome. For the first time in three years, the team will not finish at the top of their division or go to the playoffs. Instead, Twins players and many fans will spend this fall and winter pondering what went wrong and what the team will have to do to make a stronger showing next season.
