October 29, 1974 - MPR’s Sam Ford reports on Muhammad Ali vs. George Foreman boxing match held in Zaire, Africa. Ford visits Minneapolis Auditorium and interviews attendees present for a closed circuit viewing of fight hyped as “Fight of the Century.”
November 4, 1974 - MPR’s Gary Eichten reports on Reverend Jesse Jackson’s visit to the Twin Cities. In a speech, Jackson says local inner city shopping complex project is evidence of what can be done when people want something bad enough.
November 5, 1974 - MPR’s Gary Eicthen talks with Phil Getts, deputy director of the Minnesota Energy Agency, about heating prices going up due to potential coal shortage. Getz states that utility companies will have to switch over to oil as a coal strike looms on the horizon.
November 6, 1974 - The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra returns to Minnesota from a four-week tour of Europe. In a brief interview at airport, Conductor Dennis Russell Davies said audiences were very receptive.
November 8, 1974 - Connie Goldman attended a workshop of welfare workers, social service agencies and law enforcement personnel on the topic of incest. Goldman collected interviews from various members of workshop, and a speech from Dr. John Brantner of the Division of Health Care Psychology at the University of Minnesota Hospitals.
