The IR gubernatorial candidate says he is not seeking party endorsement to avoid being tied down by what he sees as far right policies and platforms that will alienate the greater electorate.
June 16, 1990 - Weekend Edition’s sports commentator Jay Weiner, of the Star Tribune, describes a rough situation on-and-off the field for the Minnesota Twins, who have won 2 of the last 13 games. Weiner says while things are bad for the team, it is still not “1982 bad.”
June 20, 1990 - A presentation of the MPR documentary "Season of Discontent: Migrants in the Red River Valley," which highlights Hispanic migrant farm workers who work the sugar beet fields.
June 20, 1990 - MPR’s Tom Meersman looks at the recent concerns of zebra mussel appearances in the Great Lakes. The species was confirmed in the Duluth/Superior Harbor in 1989. There is a fear of the negative impact it will have on Lake Superior’s local ecosystem, businesses, and municipalities.
