April 1, 2010 - Homelessness is on a sharp rise in Minnesota as unemployment and foreclosures have forced people out of permanent housing. The St. Paul-based Wilder Research survey counted nearly 9,500 homeless people - up more than 20% from the 2006 count. Greg Owen, consulting scientist at Wilder Research and director of the new homelessness study; and Laura Kadwell, director for the state program Ending Long-term Homelessness, discuss the survey results and answer listener questions.

May 10, 2010 - MPR’s Rupa Shenoy sat down with a dozen of the girls at a Hmong restaurant. The Hmong teenagers from a north Minneapolis neighborhood have spearheaded an effort to help their families communicate better with police. They have a request in to a number of city officials for a Hmong police officer to work the day shift in the area.
May 11, 2010 - MPR’s Brandt Williams reports that three same-sex couples filed a lawsuit challenging Minnesota's ban on gay marriage. The couples say the ban violates their constitutional rights and that state law should treat their relationships the same as heterosexual couples.
