November 8, 1974 - Connie Goldman attended a workshop of welfare workers, social service agencies and law enforcement personnel on the topic of incest. Goldman collected interviews from various members of workshop, and a speech from Dr. John Brantner of the Division of Health Care Psychology at the University of Minnesota Hospitals.
November 15, 1974 - Dr. David Ward, professor of criminal justice at University of Minnesota, speaking on possible techniques to standardize and equalize the now very arbitrary process of parole. Speech was given at a quarterly meeting of the Minnesota Department of Corrections, where Ward was the keynote speaker.
November 22, 1974 - Report on tenant unions, with various interviews and commentaries from advocates. They speak on housing issues and related laws.
November 27, 1974 - The “future of public television” was the discussion for a conference held at Spring Hill Conference Center in Wayzata, Minnesota. Three highlighted speakers were Henry Loomis, Chairman of the Board of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting; Ralph Rogers, Board Chairman of PBS; and Glen Robinson, former University of Minnesota Law Professor, now with the FCC.
January 14, 1975 - MPR’s Dan Olson interviews a man who visited novitiate after Menominee Warrior Society takeover. Interviewee talks about who comprises novitiate occupiers, describes an Indian Grand Jury held to determine the complaints people had on the reservation, discusses how Menominee land lost for taxes and then sold, and an explanation of the Menominee tribe’s situation compared with other tribes in a white-dominated society.
January 20, 1975 - MPR’s Kevin McKiernan reports on continued occupation of the Gresham novitiate, which is in it’s in twentieth day. Issues and demands of Indians inside are starting to escalate. At this point 350 National Guardsmen surround the abbey, and tensions remain high.
January 24, 1975 - Interview with Kevin McKiernan on tape recorded at the Alexian Novitiate on January 22, 1975. McKiernan details what transpired in creating recording of interview and getting tape out of Gresham.
February 3, 1975 - MPR’s Kevin McKiernan reports on announcement of settlement after a month long Alexian monastery occupation. Early Sunday evening, Brother Maurice Wilson read statement of agreement to end novitiate occupation. Alexians will convey title of novitiate to Menominee Indian tribe in an attempt to prevent further violence. Deed will be transferred to new tribal government.
February 14, 1975 - Gwyn Jones-Davis, head of Antioch Communiversity in North Minneapolis, speaks on juvenile delinquent rehabilitation programs at a hearing on behalf of defendant J.E.C. Report includes statements by Hennepin County Court Services Director Kenneth Young; Hennepin County District Court Judge Lindsay Arthur; Minnesota Corrections Commissioner Kenneth Schoen; Hennepin County Attorneys Representative Leonard Broad; and Jim Krieger of the Legal Rights Center, Inc. in Minneapolis, attorney for J.E.C.
February 24, 1975 - A survey of the activities in and around the Alexian Brothers Monastery in Gresham, Wisconsin during the takeover by members of the Menominee Warrior Society. Includes comments by members of the Warrior Society, Ada Deer, Dennis Banks, National Guard commander Colonel Hugh Simonson, and others.
