May 25, 1974 - Paul Murphy, professor of history at University of Minnesota, and Professor Clyde W. Summers of Yale Law School debate the issue of impeachment, as it regarded to President Nixon. Murphy argued for precedence, Summers for uniqueness of current circumstance. Debate held at the University of Minnesota.

September 18, 1974 - MPR’s Greg Barron reports on an injunction halting lumbering in Minnesota's Boundary Waters Cannoe Area was granted by Minnesota District Court Judge Miles Lord.
September 19, 1974 - Poet Nikki Giovanni, one of the leading voices in the black artist movement, talks about current affairs on the third anniversary of the Attica uprising. She was in Moorhead for a poetry reading on the Concordia College campus.

November 8, 1974 - Connie Goldman attended a workshop of welfare workers, social service agencies and law enforcement personnel on the topic of incest. Goldman collected interviews from various members of workshop, and a speech from Dr. John Brantner of the Division of Health Care Psychology at the University of Minnesota Hospitals.
November 15, 1974 - Dr. David Ward, professor of criminal justice at University of Minnesota, speaking on possible techniques to standardize and equalize the now very arbitrary process of parole. Speech was given at a quarterly meeting of the Minnesota Department of Corrections, where Ward was the keynote speaker.
