The recent arrival of immigrants from Latin America, Africa, and Asia has created many ethnically diverse Lutheran congregations in the Twin Cities.

January 15, 2007 - In this installment of MPR series The Bookshelf, Lou Bellamy, founder and artistic director of St. Paul's Penumbra Theatre, talks about Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man, a novel featuring an unnamed black narrator whose race makes him "invisible" to others.
January 17, 2007 - All Things Considered’s Tom Crann interviews Dr. Jon Hallberg, a physician in family medicine at the University of Minnesota, about health issues found in orchestral musicians. Hallberg travels with The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra as the tour physician on their European tour.
January 19, 2007 - MPR’s Dan Gunderson profiles Patty Kakac and Jodi Ritter, two musicians who make up Granary Girls. The songs written by Kakac and Ritter reflect folk traditions of activism and connections to the land.
January 22, 2007 - Hour 1 of Midday: Voices of Minnesota with Aviva Breen and Robert Treuer. Aviva Breen chairs the board of Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights. Robert Treuer grew up in a Jewish family in Austria and survived the human rights abuses of World War II. He is now a tree farmer near Bemidji. They both spoke to MPR's Dan Olson as part of his Voices of Minnesota interview series.
February 2, 2007 - MPR’s Chris Roberts reports on ‘Bob Dylan's American Journey: 1956-1966’ exhibit at Weisman Art Museum. Roberts interviews curator Colleen Sheey about the collection of Dylan artifacts. Roberts also talks with longtime Dinkytown musicians “Spider” John Koerner and Tony Glover about their reflections of time with Bobby Zimmerman when he lived in Minneapolis.

February 2, 2007 - Stephen Fatsis of the wall Street Journal talks every Friday about sports and the business of sports. And now to the SHOW business of sports. As you probably know, Minneapolis native Prince performs this year's Super Bowl half-time show. Sunday's mini-concert could attract as many as 150 million viewers...including a lot of loyal Prince fans. The Current's Bill DeVille counts himself as a football and a Prince fan. I asked him if he was surprised when he heard Prince would take the Super Bowl stage.
February 5, 2007 - In this installment from The Bookshelf series, MPR’s Cathy Wurzer talks with State Senator Mee Moua about books that are important to her. Moua came to the United States as a Hmong refugee when she was nine years old, and she said that even though she never read books when she was young, stories were a big part of her childhood, particularly when she lived in a refugee camp in Thailand.
