April 3, 2007 - MPR’s Brandt Willimas reports on the Minnesota Twins home opener against the Baltimore Orioles, in which the Twins won 7-4. Monday night at the Metrodome was also about honoring the memory of long-time radio announcer Herb Carneal, who died the day prior.
April 5, 2007 - All Things Considered’s Tom Crann presents excerpts from the funeral of Herb Carneal, the man known as the voice of the Minnesota Twins. The pews at Colonial Church, in Edina, were full of friends, family, and colleagues for a remembrance of the man behind that voice. Carneal was eulogized by four men who knew him well…Bert Blyleven, Frank Quilici, John Gordon, and Ernie Harwell.

April 6, 2007 - This morning, we have another installment in our series, "the Bookshelf," in which we ask notable Minnesotans to tell us about a book that has been meaningful in their lives. Today, we'll hear from the author of "Because of Winn Dixie" and "the Tale of Desperaux" Kate Dicamillo. Growing up in a house full of books, Dicamillo said that reading was a big part of her childhood. But she said during our interview that she would have been a reader no matter what her background was.

April 9, 2007 - Minnesota 1st District U.S. Representative Tim Walz has made a name for himself in his first 100 days. Insiders say he's become an influential Democratic voice in Washington on veterans and the war in Iraq.
April 10, 2007 - The Minnesota Twins and Hennepin County took a major step forward towards construction on the new ballpark as the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners approved changes to an agreement between the team and the county, which will give the Twins a larger financial and legal role in the ballpark plan. County officials welcomed the changes and said they will likely set the stage for groundbreaking next month.
April 10, 2007 - State lawmakers are back to work today after a long Easter-Passover break. The DFL-controled House is set to start taking up budget bills this week.... bills that are already the target of veto threats by Governor Tim Pawlenty. Joining us this morning is Minnesota Public Radio Capitol reporter, Tom Scheck. Q: Where are we now on the budget? Q: How does the DFL legislature... and Governor Pawlenty reconcile their budget plans?
