February 14, 2007 - MPR’s Stephanie Hemphil profiles Joseph Kalar, a long-lost regional poet. Hemphill interviews Duluth poet Barton Sutter, who admires Kalar’s poetry; and poet Ted Genoways, who put together a collection of Kalar’s work, titled “Papermill.”
February 15, 2007 - All Things Considered presents remarks from Minnesota's 1st District Representative Tim Walz as the House of Representatives in Washington D.C. debate a non-binding resolution opposing President Bush’s troop-build up in Iraq. Members of Congress have been taking to the House floor to give their position on the resolution...which cannot be amended.
February 15, 2007 - Fifth District Democrat Keith Ellison, speaking on the floor of the House this week opposing the President's decision to increase US troop strength in Iraq. The fifth district includes the city of Minneapolis and some surrounding suburbs.

February 16, 2007 - MPR’s Chris Roberts talks with members of the band Army Defense, based out of Golden Valley. Army Defense has produced 20 albums containing 492 songs, but the players design each project primarily for their own entertainment, just because they get a kick out of going to such lengths. February 21, 2007 - MPR’s Mark Steil reports on local discussions on federal farm dollars and how subsidies are spent. Southern Minnesota farmers told Minnesota 1st District Representative Tim Walz they want changes made in the legislation to help small farmers. The meeting in Worthington is one of several Walz will hold. It's a discussion which touches just about anyone who owns farmland anywhere in the U.S.
February 22, 2007 - Minnesota has a new law establishing one of the most aggressive standards for renewable energy in the country. Governor Pawlenty signed a bill that would require utilities to generate more of their power from renewable sources over the next two decades. Pawlenty and others say they hope the bill is the first of many energy initiatives to reach the governor's desk this year. Minnesota Public Radio's Tom Scheck reports.
February 23, 2007 - MPR’s Bob Kelleher reports that researchers in Duluth say Lake Superior is quickly warming, even faster than the climate around the lake. They believe decreased lake ice over that last couple decades is behind the warming. With the water temperature change comes concerns over future impact for the local environment and lake species.
