Minnesota has claim to a wealth of creativity; music is no exception. Almost every genre can be heard within our state’s borders. The results range from a simple act of joy, to an influence that reverberates far beyond (the “Minneapolis Sound” is a prime example). August 13, 2010 - MPR’s Mark Sanchez meets up with composer and Bloomington native Ryan Ingebritsen in Minnesota's White Water State Park, an area that Ingebritsen has fond memories of when hiking as a kid. With help from the American Composers Forum, he was awarded a McKnight fellowship for a project that returns him to those same woods.

October 7, 2010 - Imagine staying awake for 78 hours straight. Now, picture yourself playing music continuously over the course of those four days...actually playing just one song, and stopping only for bathroom breaks. It's an incredibly grueling though familiar undertaking for Minneapolis singer songwriter Mark Mallman, who embarks on the third music marathon of his career at St. Paul's Turf Club.
October 12, 2010 - MPR’s Euan Kerr interviews Darryl Holter, a developer living in Los Angeles, who has returned to Minneapolis to stage a CD release concert at Palmer's Bar for his recording "West Bank Gone." Holter lived in the neighborhood in the late 1960's. At the time it was a musical hotspot attracting international attention.

February 7, 2011 - MPR’s Chris Roberts profiles Minneapolis rapper and emcee Carnage the Executioner, aka Terrell Woods. Roberts interviews Carnage the Executioner about his personal life and album “Worth the Wait." Roberts also talks with others in the music industry about Carnage the Executioner’s talents.
