April 29, 1985 - MPR Journal host Gary Eichten presents a collection of reports and news items for Monday, April 29th, 1985. This was the first broadcast as MPR Journal, with Minnesota Journal program series being renamed.
September 4, 1985 - MPR’s Stephen Smith reports on Arne Carlson’s announcement in bid for governor’s office in 1986. Carlson, Minnesota’s state auditor and longtime Republican, is known for his perceived centrist views and tough temperament.
October 28, 1985 - MPR’s Bill Catlin reports on Garrison Keillor making the cover of Time Magazine. Catlin interviews Time editors on how and why Keillor was chosen.
January 18, 1986 - Minnesotan politicians LeClair Lambert and Don Fraser reflect on being present in D.C. during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on August 28, 1963. The day included the famous Martin Luther King Jr. speech “I Have a Dream.”
