November 15, 1975 - A network MPR Special call-in program on the history and scope of the energy crisis, both nationally and in Minnesota. April 28, 1976 - A special conference examining agriculture and foreign policy, the future of Soviet-American relationships, and other foreign affairs that have an impact on Minnesota.
October 5, 1976 - In a special press conference, Governor Wendell Anderson proposed that taconite production taxes be increased to finance up to 670 million of the cost of an on-land disposal site for Reserve Mining Co. In remarks prepared for a Capitol news conference, the governor recommended that the 75-cent-per-ton production tax paid by all taconite companies be boosted to SI per ton. The 25-cent increase, which would raise about 612 million in 1977, would go into a special long-range environmental protection fund which would help finance solutions to taconite mining-related environmental problems.
November 30, 1976 - An MPR Special, titled “Power Line Dispute,” looks into the controversy over high voltage power lines planned in numerous rural counties in order to bring additional electrical power to Minnesota and the Twin Cities.
April 8, 1977 - Special report on the Minnesota Supreme Court's unanimous decision that Reserve Mining Company be allowed to use the "Milepost 7" site for its taconite tailings on-land disposal. Includes various reports, interviews and commentary from both sides of the court fight.

Many observers have praised the orderly fashion in which many major bills were passed, though there were the expected political disagreements over tax, welfare, and other basic policies.

January 26, 1978 - A live broadcast of the Minnesota Legislature debating the special election bill.
March 17, 1978 - This bill prohibits the Minnesota County Welfare boards from paying for abortions except to prevent the death of the mother, or if the pregnancy is the result of rape in which case it must be reported within 48 hours, or if the pregnancy is the result of incest in which case the incident and relative must be reported to the police for investigation prior to the abortion. Normal child birth is given preference over abortion. Passed the House 107-27.
