November 1, 1991 - Midday’s Bob Potter interviews Todd Krause, forecaster at the Minneapolis National Weather Service office; and Daryl Sherman, of Minnesota Department of Transportation about blizzard hitting the region. Snow accumulation, snowdrifts, and road conditions are discussed.
November 4, 1991 - MPR’s Gary Eichten talks with Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) official about the delays on roads during morning rush hour, which lasted an incredibly long 6-10:30 AM. If anything should have been done differently regarding bus service during snowstorm is also discussed.
November 4, 1991 - MPR’s Carol Schotzko reports on the impact of snowstorm to, the small southern Minnesota town of Sargeant. There are numerous power outages and downed frozen powerlines.
November 4, 1991 - MPR’s Bill Wareham reports on snow removal problems in St. Paul. Due to a failure of private contractors, four areas of the city were bypassed for plowing. Minneapolis road challenges are also mentioned.
November 5, 1991 - MPR’s Bill Wareham reports on some reasons behind slow roads. Jim Scheibel, St. Paul mayor, explains issues with plowing certain areas of town. Bob Otto, Minneapolis maintenance engineer, shares challenges of plows getting stuck and winds blowing snow back onto cleared areas.
November 6, 1991 - MPR’s Gary Eichten interviews naturalist about how animals are adapting to to massive snowstorm. The different experiences of small birds, squirrels, pheasants, and deer are detailed. Not surprisingly, hibernators are the big winners.
November 6, 1991 - MPR’s Chris Roberts reports on the vote results of St. Paul gay and lesbian rights ordinance repeal. Roberts visits the Prom Expo Center in St. Paul, election headquarters for Campaign 90s, the group supporting the ordinance, to get reactions. Roberts also contacts spokesperson for Citizen’s Alert, a group behind the repeal effort.
November 6, 1991 - Karen Clark, Minnesota House representative from District 60A, discusses legislative efforts at State Capitol to secure gay rights statewide. Clark also comments on local efforts; notably the gay and lesbian rights ordinance repeal in St. Paul.
November 6, 1991 - MPR’s Gary Eichten interviews Choua Lee after she wins seat on Saint Paul School Board. Lee discusses her desire to focus on bilingual studies, ESL programs, and parental involvement.
November 7, 1991 - Mainstreet Radio’s Rachel Reabe reports on the foster care of developmentally disabled in Stearns County, Minnesota. Reabe interviews a foster care provider and government officials.
