August 31, 1991 - From MPR Minnesota State Fair booth, guest host Gary Eichten talks about the pennant race with Twins General Manager Andy McPhail. This is followed with commentary from Howard Sinker, Star Tribune reporter and editor, who answers listener questions about baseball
September 2, 1991 - From MPR Minnesota State Fair booth, Midday's Labor Day guests are Christine Mituzak, Community Service and Education Director at the Minnesota AFL-CIO and Tom O'Connell, Labor Studies Coordinator at Metropolitan State University. They discuss labor movement and labor unions today. This is followed by interviews with Minnesota politician Gerry Sikorski and author Alexs D. Pate.
September 4, 1991 - Dr. Susan Erbaugh comments on her concerns over how modern media presents murder in the news and the negative stress it imparts on children. Erbaugh believes that media needs to be aware of news stories presentation and that parents should have a dialog with their children over the exposure.
September 6, 1991 - Mainstreet Radio’s Leif Enger profiles the Delavan Agriscience Elementary School, the state's first magnet elementary to build its entire curriculum around the farm. The project grew out of a planning grant from the Center for School Change.
September 10, 1991 - Suzanna Sherry, faculty member of the University of Minnesota Law School, shares her insights on watching the Supreme Court confirmation hearings of judge Clarence Thomas.
September 12, 1991 - All Things Considered’s Gary Eichten interviews Geraldine Ferraro, who in 1984 became the first female vice-presidential nominee representing a major American political party. Ferraro reflects on being a part of Walter Mondale’s 1984 presidential campaign and discusses the need for more women in prominent positions within government and business.
September 14, 1991 - Call-in show with University of Minnesota entomologist Mark Ascerno.
September 15, 1991 - MPR presents the documentary “Learning the White People Way: A Documentary Essay on the History of Federal Indian Boarding Schools.” It is narrated and co-written by Ted Mahto, a Native American from the Red Lake band of Chippewa in northern Minnesota. Mahto reflects on his experience at boarding schools in Pipestone, Minnesota and Flandreau, South Dakota.
September 17, 1991 - After experiencing road game woes, MPR’s Bill Wareham reports that the Minnesota Twins have found their winning ways again by returning home to the dome and beating the Kansas City Royals.
