June 18, 1993 - MPR’s Beth Friend profiles St. Paul playwright Marion McClinton’s Enlightenments on an Enchanted Island, an Illusion Theater production, and interviews the playwright about the work and race in American culture.
July 26, 1993 - MPR’s Robin Gehl comments on the upswing of the Minnesota Twins coming out of the Major League Baseball All-Star break. Segment includes an interview with Twin designated hitter Dave Winfield.
August 20, 1993 - Mainstreet Radio’s Rachel Reabe visits Brainerd International Raceway, where the cars are fast and loud. Reabe interviews drivers and attendees about the fun at BIR during an amateur “Show & Go” event.
August 23, 1993 - MPR’s Robin Gehl gives an appraisal of the Minnesota Twins disappointing season. Gehl also shares interviews with Brian Harper, who has had an excellent individual performance in 1993; and Kirby Puckett, who is enjoying his move from center field to right field position.
September 10, 1993 - An interview with local sports agent and author Ron Simon about his book, The Game Behind the Game: Negotiating in the Big Leagues.
September 23, 1993 - MPR’s Perry Finelli interviews Ray Crump, former Twins equipment manager, about Beneath the Grandstands. The book contains a collection of baseball stories of Crump's life growing up as a bat boy for the Washington Senators and then moving to Minnesota to become the Minnesota Twins first equipment manager.
September 29, 1993 - MPR’s Mike Edgerly interviews American novelist and screenwriter Mark Frost. The two discuss Frost’s Twin Peaks screen work and his occult thriller, The List of 7: A Novel.
October 19, 1993 - Mainstreet Radio’s Leif Enger reports on local attempts to solve a battle between man and beaver over the damming of culverts. The potential solution is use of Clemson levelers in culverts, which allows a water flow that does not draw the blocking instinct of the beaver.
January 4, 1994 - MPR’s Tom Fudge tales a look at inauguration of Sharon Sayles Belton, the new Minneapolis mayor; and Jackie Cherryhomes, the new Minneapolis city council president.
February 4, 1994 - MPR’s Bob Potter completes a phone interview with Minnesota Twins owner Carl Pohlad about his public announcement of interest to sell the team. Pohlad states the struggle of making money on a small market Major League Baseball team.
