April 7, 1982 - MPR’s Lee Axdahl reports from the Hubert Humphrey Metrodome as it opens its doors for the first Minnesota Twins game at the venue…one with no sun or grass. Axdahl talks with both fans and protesters to get their take of the “dome” opener.
April 6, 1983 - MPR’s Jim Ragsdale reports on the home opener of the Minnesota Twins for the 1983 MLB season. Ragsdale interviews players and fans about their thoughts of team’s chances in the upcoming season after a dismal 60-102 win/loss record in 1982.
September 28, 1984 - Minneapolis Star & Tribune’s sports commentator Howard Sinker provides commentary on the Twin’s chances for post season play evaporating after a heart-breaking game loss the night prior. The Twins are back two games for a division title and making the playoffs, with only three games left in the regular season.

December 24, 1984 - In this edition of KSJN's Morning Edition: The Sounds of the Season from Around the Twin Cities, Doug Hamilton profiles a local Santa at Dayton’s department store.
August 2, 1985 - Sports commentator Howard Sinker comments on the Minnesota Twins acquisition of star pitcher Bert Blyleven from the Cleveland Indians. The looming possibility of an MLB strike and new team manager Ray Miller is also discussed.
October 4, 1985 - Morning Edition’s Doug Hamilton talks with Minneapolis Star Tribune’s sports commentator about how the Minnesota Twins fared in the 1985 season…it wasn’t good.
April 28, 1986 - MPR’s Gary Eichten talks Twins baseball with Minneapolis Star & Tribune sports commentator Howard Sinker. The two discuss the Metrodome roof sinking in during the 8th inning of April 27th game, the poor performance of the relief pitchers, and various other Twins players.
December 17, 1986 - MPR’s Jim Bickal reports that the Minnesota Twins have decided against signing starter pitcher Jack Morris to a multi-year contract.
December 29, 1986 - MPR’s Beth Friend reports on the impact taking place with the Minnesota Orchestra as the organization experiences first season with Edo de Waart as music director. The conductor hopes to win over audiences with programs that highlight contemporary classical compositions, not only centuries old works.
