February 5, 1994 - MPR’s Chris Roberts interviews Aron Pilhofer, the news editor of the weekly gay publication Equal Time. Pilhofer discusses the goals of newspaper and the concerns of his leadership role at Equal Time, being that he is straight and not part of the gay community.
February 10, 1994 - MPR’s Perry Finelli interviews Lt. Jay Dell on the ice conditions on Lake Superior, which has frozen over. In some areas the ice is 24-36 inches thick.
March 3, 1994 - MPR’s Elizabeth Stawicki reports on a group of Hmong parents demanding that Saint Paul School District address inadequate education of Asian students. Parents want district to provide Hmong interpreters, teachers, and parent representation.
March 7, 1994 - MPR’s Mark Zdechik reports on the local program Manos Creativas, which has developed a creative hand project and work forum for Hispanic women in St. Paul.
March 23, 1994 - MPR’s Bob Potter talks with Edina author Sandra Benitez, won the Barnes and Noble Discover Great New Writers award for "A Place Where the Sea Remembers." Benitez also reads from book.
April 6, 1994 - Two Hmong college students discuss the success of first generation Hmong college students in the United States, and if it will also translate into success for the greater Hmong community.
April 30, 1994 - MPR’s William Wilcoxen reports from Lake Street in South Minneapolis where volunteers, students, and staff are preparing for the annual MayDay festival and parade. Put on by In the Heart of the Beast, a local performance troupe and theater, since 1975 the annual gathering draws thousands to Powderhorn Park.
June 4, 1994 - MPR’s Euan Kerr profiles the forming of Queer Street Patrol, a Minneapolis community patrol made up of local gay and lesbian and their advocates. The group is starting patrols downtown in hopes of creating a safer environment for members of the LGBT community.
June 11, 1994 - MPR’s Marianne Combs visits an adult prom being held at the Calhoun Beach Club specifically for gay and lesbian attendees. Combs interviews various individuals about their thoughts and experience on event. District 202’s first annual prom for gay and lesbian teens is also highlighted in report.
June 20, 1994 - MPR’s Euan Kerr reports on the Hmong play "Orphan Boy And Dragon Princess" being staged at the History Theatre. The story tells the story of a young man who marries a young woman, unaware that she is a dragon princess. Kerr interviews the actors and directors.
