October 30, 2002 - MPR’s Dan Olson presents a brief overview of Walter Mondale’s political career. Democrat Mondale will launch a campaign for the late Senator Paul Wellstone's seat. At 74 he's facing a six day campaign against a 53 year old rival, Republican Norm Coleman.
October 30, 2002 - MPR’s Mark Zdechlik reports on the Minnesota DFL's Central Committee, as it convenes a special meeting this evening where hundreds of DFL activists are expected to name former Vice President Walter Mondale as the party's new US Senate candidate. The meeting will take place at the Historic State Theater in downtown Minneapolis.

November 25, 2002 - MPR’s Tim Pugmire reports on NCS Pearson, a test scoring company that mishandled thousands of Minnesota high school exams, agreeing to pay seven million dollars in damages to affected students and their families. The settlement comes more than two years after state education officials uncovered the errors, and just days before a class action lawsuit was scheduled to go to trial.
November 27, 2002 - MPR’s Cathy Wurzer interviews Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak about Tyesha Edwards shooting. Two men, ages 21 and 23, are in custody in connection with the shooting.
December 13, 2002 - MPR’s Cathy Wurzer interviews Keith Ellison, a State Representative from Minneapolis, about State budget shortfall. Solving the budget shortfall will be the top priority of the Republican caucus, that issue was also the top of a meeting last night in Minneapolis. The Minneapolis Urban League, the NAACP, and the Council on Black Minnesotans met to discuss their ideas for the upcoming session.
