October 27, 2000 - Vikings fans in Minnesota and around the world have a new way to follow the team: They can listen to games on their computers. The Vikings are the only team in the National Football League broadcasting their own games over the Internet. The Vikings hope to win new fans and make money in the process. Minnesota Public Radio's Jon Gordon reports.
October 27, 2000 - The University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus contains the biggest student voting block in the state. With almost 27,000 undergraduates alone the University of Minnesota is fertile ground for candidates courting the youth vote. But campaigns are finding apathy remains a big problem among young voters. Minnesota Public Radio's Patty Marsicano reports.
October 27, 2000 - Agriculture was the focus as Governor Jesse Ventura's trade mission to Mexico entered its final day. Governor Ventura and Minnesota agriculture representatives visited the city of Guadalajara, where they toured a food processing plant and met with local government officials. Minnesota farm cooperatives along on the trip are hoping the contacts will help their members find new markets for their crops. Minnesota Public Radio's Andrew Haeg reports.
October 27, 2000 - St. Cloud area voters rejected a half-cent sales tax increase during last year's election. This year, the tax is back on the ballot, but in a form the city hopes voters will approve. Mainstreet Radio's Marisa Helms reports.

October 27, 2000 - Vice President Al Gore is scheduled to make a campaign stop in Minnesota tomorrow. Minnesota has gone with the democratic presidential candidate in each election since 1972. But a recent poll shows Gore's Republican opponent, Texas Governor George Bush, slightly ahead of Gore. Bush's strength here has prompted the Vice President and democrats to make direct appeals to voters supporting Ralph Nader. Minnesota Public Radio's Tom Scheck reports.
October 30, 2000 - Sixteen hundred workers are on strike at the Frigidaire plant in St Cloud. They say a pay raise in a recent contract offering is cancelled out by an increase in insurance premiums. Company officials have remained quiet on the issue.
October 30, 2000 - A teenager shot by an Apple Valley police officer over the weekend had allegedly taken the drug LSD before the officer arrived to investigate a reported disturbance. The boy is listed in fair condition but may be paralyzed from the waist down. Police say he was shot when he tried to take the officer's weapon. Pat Harrison is the co-director of Health Care Research for the Minnesota Department of Human Services. She says nationally about 5-thousand emergency room visits are connected with LSD use. Harrison says alcohol and marajuana are still the most popular drugs of choice for Minnesota teens---but LSD use is not uncommon:
