Midmorning’s Cathy Wurzer talks with Minnesota poet Bill Holm about the loss of his literary friend, Frederick Manfred.
Minnesota writer Fredrick Manfred died on September 7th, 1994, at the age of 82. The author of 34 books, including his best known work Lord Grizzly, Manfred has been compared to William Faulkner and Homer for his depictions of life. He lived near the southwest Minnesota community of Laverne, on a hill overlooking the region he called "Siouxland."
