MPR Journal’s Gary Eichten talks with former owner of Minnie the Cow (aka Minnie Moo), a white and black Holstein cow that is going to now roam Walt Disney World.
Minnie was born on a dairy farm in Edgerton, Minnesota in 1984. Found to be a poor producer of milk, she was initially planned to be slaughtered, but a family member wrote to Disneyland and Walt Disney World in 1988 with photos of her, suggesting The Walt Disney Company could use her since she had unique Mickey Mouse head spot pattern on her side. Disney purchased Minnie to be a part of Grandma Duck's Petting Farm.
