Camp children

LISTEN:Camp children
00:00--:--

Demand is up sharply this year for a place at the Hmong Culture and Language summer camp at Concordia University. Camp directors say immigration to the metro area is fueling the increase. The English and Hmong camp starts today. It is open to Hmong and non-Hmong students and centers around dual-language instruction. This is the fifth year the camp has been up and running but Director Sally Baas says this year they had to turn away hundreds of children. She says learning in multiple languages increases student school achievement.
