Farmer Aid

LISTEN:Farmer Aid
00:00--:--

Two state legislators are urging vegetable farmers who lost their crops last week to come forward soon to be counted for possible assistance. Hail and strong winds wiped out the fields of an estimated 200 farmers in Dakota County. Most of the growers are Hmong who live in St. Paul and supply the farmers markets in the Twin Cities. DFL state Senator Mee Moua of St. Paul and Republican Representative Dennis Ozment of Rosemount held a meeting at the state Capitol today to discuss ways to help. Ozment says it's not yet clear what kind of aid is available.
