A St. Paul delegation that traveled last week to Thailand on behalf of Mayor Chris Coleman has returned to the United States, after meeting with diplomatic, government and religious officials. DFL State Senator Mee Moua of St. Paul, who is Hmong, led the delegation. She says the group learned that the remains of 486 people that were dug up have been cremated and reburied. But officials also told the delegation that they will continue to store the remains of another 211 people until Hmong families in the U.S. come up with a plan for the remains. Moua says the delegation wanted to establish relationships with officials in Thailand, as well as bring back information for the families.
