The same week that 18 people were arrested in Minnesota for human trafficking and prostitution, the Guthrie Theater is presenting the world premiere of a play dealing with the issue. Playwright Julie Marie Myatt 's "Boats on a River" examines human trafficking in Cambodia. Myatt visited the country and researched the lives of the women working in brothels there. Myatt says the hardest part was carrying the painful stories she heard while there. Realizing that slavery exists now is almost inconceivable for many people.
