Members of Minnesota's Hmong community are trying to find out how they can reclaim the remains of relatives that were dug up near a Buddhist temple in Thailand. Thousands of Hmong had lived in the area as refugees before moving to the United States. In 2005, about 500 graves were cleared from a hillside in the area, sparking outrage in the Hmong community. Now a flier posted near the temple has given relatives a July deadline to reclaim the remains. Chu Wu is with the Hmong Graves Desecration Committee in St Paul. He says the committee is trying to figure out how to reclaim the remains. He says getting a response from the Thai government has been difficult, especially since a new administration took over after a coup last September.
