Wisconsin's DNR has stepped up its outreach to Hmong hunters; a year after a Hmong from Minnesota shot and killed six deer hunters. This year, the state has increased the number of Hmong hunter safety instructors from three to 27. Wisconsin is also looking to recruit additional Hmong to man the state's hunter hot-line, and to serve as conservation officers. Spooner, Wisconsin, Chief Warden Mike Bartz says some Hmong have had problems understanding game laws and property lines.
