Several peace activists this afternoon ended a three-day sit-in demonstration at local offices of Minnesota's U.S senators. They had been seeking assurances from DFL Senators Paul Wellstone and Mark Dayton that they would oppose resolutions supporting military attacks on Iraq. For Wellstone, who's in a tight re-election race with Republican Norm Coleman, war with Iraq has become a high profile campaign issue. And conservatives and liberals alike are criticizing Minnesota's senior senator on the matter.
