The latest highway safety statistics show trucking related traffic fatalities in Minnesota declined by four and a half percent last year. Meanwhile, The Minnesota State Patrol and the Department of Transportation are working to solve a trucking problem that has some county officials angry and frustrated. Officials say hundreds of trucks using county roads to avoid scales and safety inspectors in some parts of the state are damaging roads, and creating safety concerns.
