Katherine Koch-Laveen of Apple Valley High School is Minnesota's Teacher of the Year for 2000. Koch-Laveen has taught chemistry and science at Apple Valley since it opened in 1976. She was selected from 98 finalists and will represent Minnesota in the national competition.
