Opponents of the Animal Genetics conference have been getting their word out to media organizations through numerous faxes and e-mails in recent days. Using words like "Farmageddon" "Frankenstein" and "Mad Scientists" groups like Grain RAGE are sounding the alarm about the potential danger of genetic experimentation on animals. Susan Lederer is an expert on the history of medicine at Yale University and has written about the public outcry surrounding human and animal experimentation. Lederer says the rhetoric in the animal rights debate can be some of the most extreme, pitting good against evil:
