Homicides are the leading cause of death for children in Hennepin County. That's according to a new report Hennepin County officials released today on injuries and deaths to children up to age 19. Thirty two percent of the deaths recorded between 1993 and 1997 were attributed to abuse or assault.
In 2008, Minnesota's voters passed the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment to the Minnesota Constitution: to protect drinking water sources; to protect, enhance, and restore wetlands, prairies, forests, and fish, game, and wildlife habitat; to preserve arts and cultural heritage; to support parks and trails; and to protect, enhance, and restore lakes, rivers, streams, and groundwater.
