Today would have been the 86th birthday of Eric Sevareid, the longtime C-B-S reporter and commentator, and perhaps the greatest journalist to come out of Minnesota. Sevareid died in 1992 at the age of 79, and while his work and life are admired and respected by those who know about him, even his biographer questions his impact on American broadcast journalism. Minnesota Public Radio's John Rabe reports. SCRIPT: When Eric Sevareid retired from CBS News in 1977, he spoke at the National Press Club, and somebody asked him about the good old days.
