Governor Arne Carlson has ordered state flags lowered to half staff through Thursday evening to honor Muriel Humphrey Brown. Carlson called Brown "truly a Minnesota treasure." The widow of former vice president Hubert Humphrey, and mother of four children including gubernatorial candidate Skip Humphrey died yesterday in a Minneapolis hospital. She was 86 years old.
