Local, State and Federal officals began a preliminary assessment of the tornado damage this afternoon. Governor Carlson says he fully expects the southern Minnesota communities hit by Sunday's tornadoes to qualify for federal assistance. The St. Peter High school suffered extensive damage, and principal Jeff Olson says the building can't be used for the rest of the school year: Jeff Olson, the principal of St. Peter High School. We'll have reports from St. Peter and Le Center coming up next hour on ALL THINGS CONSIDERED.
