State loses court battle with Mille Lacs band over spearing rights

A federal appeals court has decided one of the most contentious legal questions in Minnesota history and has found the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe has the right to hunt, fish and gather off reservation free from state regulation. The three judge panel says an 1837 treaty remains good law and is still in effect. Minnesota Public Radio's Elizabeth Stawicki reports.
