Some 300 people turned out to hear presidential candidate Fred Harris. Harris says he'll put America together in the populist tradition; his issues are liberal which he claims are also conservative. Harris says we need a tax cut of 15 billion to offset new energy price increases resulting from President Ford's policies. We have idle plant capacity because consumers don't have enough money to spend. Ford's oil policy will dampen the beginning of a recovery. The basic question is whether government exists to serve the interest of average families or the super rich and giant corporations.
