St. Paul mayor, Larry Cohen, decries defense spending at Veteran's celebration

A traditiona' Veteran's Day celebration at the veteran's center with flags, prayers, and patriotic songs. However, St. Paul's mayor, Larry Cohen, gave an untraditional address. Cohen states that politics in Washington are really messed up. That the money that's being spent the way it's being spent is messed up. Money is going to South East Asia, but funding is not going to schools and veterans. Too much is being spent on defense. The Reverend Russell Krambeck stated that stopping war is important, but not the most important goal. The most important thing we must do is preserve our American heritage. Amnesty group protests war and states that there are other ways to deal with conflict.
