Tom Scanlon of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind proposes a state Commission for the Blind. The proposal will soon be presented to the Minnesota Legislature. Minnesota NFB President Joyce Hoffa says the blind, not sighted people, should be in charge of their own programs.
