December 20, 2006 - MPR’s William Wilcoxen profiles Minnesota Twins star pitcher Brad Radke upon his announcement of retirement from Major League Baseball. For the first time in more than a decade, the Minnesota Twins are planning for a baseball season without Radke, after 12 years as a fixture in the Twins' pitching rotation.
December 23, 2004 - MPR’s Jim Bickal reports that Joe Mauer faces a much greater risk of developing arthritis at some point in his career after a left knee injury in the second game of his rookie season last year. The Minnesota Twins catcher is back home in St. Paul for the holidays after spending several months in Florida for rehabilitation.
December 21, 2004 - The Minnesota Twins have reached one-year contract agreements with five players including a $5 million deal with right fielder Jacque Jones. The Twins offered arbitration to four other players, including Cy Young Award winner Johan Santana. General Manager Terry Ryan takes a few questions from MPR Morning Edition producer Jim Bickal.

The Twins clinched their third straight American League Central Division crown with an 8-2 victory over the White Sox in Chicago. Twins General Manager Terry Ryan shares his thoughts and hopes for the team in the postseason.
April 5, 2004 - General Manager Terry Ryan gives an appraisal of The Minnesota Twins as they open 2004 Major League Baseball season with a home game against the Cleveland Indians. During the off-season, the Twins lost key players through free agency and traded others to cut payroll. Ryan says he doesn't think the roster changes will stop the Twins from winning a third straight division title.

Major League Baseball executives say they're proceeding with plans to dissolve two teams, including the Twins, but it's not clear if and when it might actually happen.
January 4, 2002 - MPR's Tom Scheck reports that the Minnesota Twins may not be a team next year but at least they have a new manager. The team announced third base coach Ron Gardenhire will receive a two year guaranteed contract to replace Tom Kelly, contraction or not.
November 19, 2001 - MPR’s Tom Scheck reports on public event at the Metrodome to support the future of the Minnesota Twins. At a rally coordinated by the grass roots organization "Keep the Twins at Home," fans expressed support for Major League Baseball in the state. The Twins are one of a handful of teams considered top candidates to be eliminated through baseball's contraction plans.
October 12, 2001 - MPR's Tom Scheck reports that Minnesota Twins manager Tom Kelly says he's stepping down after 15 full seasons. Under Kelly's tenure, the Twins won two World Series championships in 1987 and 1991. This year, the Twins finished second in the American League Central, snapping an eight year run of losing seasons.
