December 21, 2004 - The Minnesota Twins have reached one-year contract agreements with five players including a $5 million deal with right fielder Jacque Jones. The Twins offered arbitration to four other players, including Cy Young Award winner Johan Santana. General Manager Terry Ryan takes a few questions from MPR Morning Edition producer Jim Bickal.
December 8, 2004 - LaVelle Neal, who follows the Twins year-round for the Star Tribune, discusses the Minnesota Twins signing of ace pitcher Brad Radke to a two-year $18 million contract. The 32-year-old right hander has been a fixture in the Twins rotation since 1995. He recorded the best earned run average of his career last season.
September 24, 2003 - The Minnesota Twins clinched the Central Division title and made the MLB playoffs for second straight year. The Twins 4-1 victory over Cleveland at the Metrodome, coupled with losses by Kansas City and Chicago, clinched the division title. After the Twins game ended, fans watched the end of the other games on the Metrodome scoreboard and then celebrated the title. September 4, 2003 - The Minnesota Twins find themselves in a tie for first place in the American League Central this morning after a remarkable victory at the Metrodome. The Twins beat the Anaheim Angels 6-5 on the strength of a wild play in the bottom of the ninth inning. MPR's Jim Bickal was at the game and he's in studio to recollect on memorable moment.
November 13, 2001 - If Major League Baseball goes through with plans to eliminate the Minnesota Twins and the Montreal Expos, it will mark a historic moment for the game. This would be the first league contraction in 100 years and the end of one of the charter members of the American League. September 29, 1988 - MPR’s Jim Bickal takes a look back at the 1988 Minnesota Twins’ Major League Baseball season. Despite coming in second place in the American League West and missing post season play, the team had an impressive 91-71 record. That is the best regular season record in 18 years.
