December 24, 1996 - Stephen Paulus is the first American composer to have a carol performed at the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at Kings College, Cambridge. The text of the carol was written by poet Kevin Crossley-Holland who was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Saint Olaf College and Endowed Chair in Humanities and Fine Arts at the University of Saint Thomas.
