Voices of Minnesota, a long-running MPR series, highlights the many interesting voices that make up the people and history of Minnesota. It has appeared on Mid-Morning, MPR, Midday, and News Feature broadcasts in short form, and part of Midday hour programming in long form. Over the years, MPR’s Dan Olson, Gary Eichten, and numerous others, produced hundreds of fascinating interviews from the land of 10,000 Lakes.
May 31, 1995 - Hour 2 of Midday, featuring Voices of Minnesota. Interview with former Federal Judge Miles Lord. Now a personal injury attorney, Lord says he is in excellent health and having a very good time when he spoke with the FM news station's Gary Eichten.
June 5, 1995 - A Voices of Minnesota segment feature. MPR’s Beth Friend speaks with Evelyn Fairbanks, author of "Days of Rondo." Fairbanks talks of her memoir, an interpretive account of events in the life of a black family from the South struggling for survival and meaning in a northern city. Rondo was a St. Paul black neighborhood that vanished with the coming of the freeways in the 1960s. This is part 1 of discussion.
