July 18, 1979 - Stewart Udall, environmentalist and former Secretary of the Interior, and Leon Martel, executive vice president of the Hudson Institute, debate the resolution "There Is an Energy Crisis in the United States" at the first annual Charles A. Lindbergh Memorial Lecture at St. Cloud State University. Stewart Udall argued there is an energy shortage in the United States, while Leon Martel argued the opposite.
July 23, 1984 - Dr. Ernest Boyer, president of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, speaking at 6th annual Charles A. Lindbergh Memorial lecture, held at St. Cloud State University. Boyer’s address was titled, “The Future of Education in America." He lays out what he sees as five key qualities for school renewal.
July 25, 1985 - Bruce Gardner, professor of Agriculture and Resource Economics at the University of Maryland, speaking at Charles A. Lindbergh Memorial Lecture Series at St. Cloud State University. The theme of debate was “Resolved: The Fate of Farming Should Be Determined in the Marketplace.” Dr. Gardner spoke in favor of market influences controlling farm policy.
July 25, 1985 - Harold Breimyer, extension economist emeritus at the University of Missouri, speaking at Charles A. Lindbergh Memorial Lecture Series at St. Cloud State University. The theme of debate was “Resolved: The Fate of Farming Should Be Determined in the Marketplace.” Breimyer argued that agricultural prices are an appropriate subject for public policy.

August 19, 1993 - Daniel Popeo, a former federal trial attorney and staff assistant to President Richard Nixon; and Ronald Meshbesher, Minneapolis defense attorney, participated in the Charles Lindbergh Memorial Lectures, held at St. Cloud State University. The two debated on the criminal justice system. Debate was titled “Resolved: That the Criminal Justice System in America Favors a Criminal Over the Victim.“ Daniel Popeo argued that the criminal justice system is weighted in favor of those accused of crimes; Ron Meshbesher argued against that view. Following debate, Popeo and Meshbesher answered audience questions.
